Hello everyone Welcome to our first ancient tree-mail of 2006. There are lots of exciting international and local events to tell you about that are coming up soon and with your help we would like to find and record 10,000 trees for our map before the end of the year. Out and about... Don't miss our Ancient Tree Forum visit to Langley Park and Black Park in Buckinghamshire in March. The Heritage Lottery Fund is contributing to major restoration works at both sites and we'll find out about the plans for the ancient trees and the wildlife at both these busy parks - see event details on our events pages. It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon
men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that
emanates from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews
a weary spirit.
