Dear
Supporter,
If
you’re as concerned as me about the environment,
you’ll be
pleased to know the Government has just published its draft Climate
Change Bill for consultation. While welcoming the Bill,
we feel it does not go far
enough. See our response.
Alternatively, you may have had your faith in climate change
rocked
by recent media reports. If so, please read this month’s
nature notes. It
explains why human-induced
climate change is still very much a reality.
Planting trees and creating new woods can
help wildlife adapt to the effects of climate change.*
You can help us plant more trees by ‘dedicating a tree’. The
latest
scheme has a new list of woods and a
beautiful bluebell
certificate.
As well as making lovely gifts, these types of products provide vital
funds towards all our work; which is why we're always keen to
develop new products, some with other like-minded companies.
I've just become the very first holder of the new Woodland Trust credit
card provided
by The Co-operative Bank, and I'd like to encourage you to apply too.
It's a great way to help us every time you spend with it, and if
you sign
up or switch before 30 June 2007, we'll receive an extra
donation of £20.
Kind regards,
Sue Holden, chief executive
