Dear Phenology recorders

A warm January, a chilly but sunny February, what does the rest of spring hold for us? In March keep an eye out for:
  • Budburst in trees such as ash, birch and beech
  • Early flowering in bluebells and wood anemone
  • Nest building activity in blackbirds, blue tits and great tits
  • Lots of possible butterfly activity
  • Frogspawn and tadpoles
What have you seen?

Spring 2008 is already in the news

The mild conditions in January and early February produced strong media interest in Nature’s Calendar, with reports on national TV, radio and in the newspapers.  We value this as a way of raising public awareness about climate change and its effect on our wildlife. And without your data, there would be no story to tell, so thank you!
