greenspace scotland - Natural Health ServiceDear Supporter,

Spring is almost here again and if, like me, you enjoy walking, you’ll welcome the warmer weather on its way. This month’s nature notes - signs of spring - will tell you what to look out for, when you’re out and about.

Walking is an excellent way to keep fit and improve your health.

Our seminar ‘The Natural Health Service – better than a prescription’ was one of four parliamentary events at this year’s Scottish Environment Week. We’ve known for some time about the link between access to the natural environment and improved health, but politicians are finally waking up to it as well.

Another issue political parties are finally realising is that you, as the electorate, want effective action to safeguard the environment and to combat climate change. That’s why many are now campaigning on their green credentials.

But how green are they really?

To find out, we’ve joined forces with nine other environmental organisations to launch on February 27th ‘The Green Standard; tests for environmental leadership’ and we’re challenging the political parties to meet it.

We'd like you to help us make politicians back up their words with action.

Kind regards,
Sue Holden, chief executive
