Dear Supporter, Sue Holden

Excellent news – I’m delighted to tell you we’ve now exchanged contracts on Brede High Woods in East Sussex. Situated within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these magnificent woods will be our largest site in England.

The appeal has been an amazing success story. The Tubney Charitable Trust set our appeal off to a flying start with a large pledge and, together with a donation from someone living near the site, we were also incredibly fortunate to secure a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, a major achievement given the wealth of applications assessed at this time.

I even persuaded one of my friends to include ‘a donation to Brede High Woods’ on his wedding list and he’s had about a dozen donations so far!

But, it’s the many generous donations from our members and supporters, which have also enabled us to secure this site. Without this support we would never have got this far.

Kind regards,
Sue Holden, chief executive

PS We are continuing the fundraising effort to support the restoration and long-term management of these beautiful woods. So, please continue to give if you can.
