Dear Supporter, Andrew Fairbairn from the Woodland Trust Scotland

We have been offered a unique opportunity to buy more than 240 spectacular hectares (600 acres) of land near Dumbarton to create a new home for Scotland's wildlife. We call it Lang Craigs and it is a truly remarkable location. Every time I visit the site and I stand up on the Craigs it is hard to believe that this special place is only 12 miles from Glasgow city centre.

Unfortunately years of neglect have seen the site become degraded, but we plan to plant over 200,000 new trees in an area of Scotland where native woodland cover is less than 2% of the land. A large new native woodland on this scale will not only improve the landscape but also create valuable new habitats for some of Scotland's best loved wildlife including sparrowhawk, rare butterflies such as pearl boadered fritillary and tawny owls. Why not take a look at a video of the site, to see for yourself what potential this fantastic landscape has?

You can help us create a new home for Scotland's wildlife. To make a donation you can visit our website or call 0845 293 5858. Please help us today.

Kind regards,

Andrew Fairbairn
