Dear recorders...

Some of our wildlife is definitely taking advantage of our warm and sunny Indian Summer. I was lucky enough to spot a nest of swallows recently that was just about to fledge. They were almost certainly a second brood, which is what swallows manage to achieve in years when there is an abundant supply of insects; lingering in the UK until October.

I'd be really interested in your views on the 'artificial trees' story below; in future we’ll try to include more topical items for discussion like this.
