Dear Supporter
Planting a tree is a life-changing experience. Time and time
again people tell us this. Last month I joined other staff
as we celebrated the Woodland Trust's 33rd birthday by each
planting our own trees. It wasn't the first time but I still
felt inspired. If you haven't tried it, you must!
As
the new tree planting season begins, in this e-newsletter
you will read how we are making the most of this powerful
act, creating in people a lifelong love and respect for
woodland.
Last month, Clive Anderson and hundreds of young cadets put
saplings in the ground to mark the bicentenary of the Battle
of Trafalgar at the unveiling of Victory Wood in Kent. But
what has Trafalgar got to do with the Woodland Trust?
Find out here.
Clive is one of our best known volunteers but there are
thousands of others making a massive difference to the UK's
woods. There's a surprising range of roles too, indoors and
out. Take a look at the
opportunities.
Read on to meet our new celebrity supporters, discover the very
latest special offers, how autumn is changing and a great
deal more.
Best wishes
Sue Holden
Chief executive, The Woodland Trust

Weymouth relief road to wreck
green Olympic dream? The transport strategy
for the 2012 Olympics calls for 100% of
spectators to arrive at the games via public
